June 2013 5K Race/Walk

  • by

Dear Friends,

We emerge from darkness into light, as winter is finally over; and so are the cold, dark days that came with the season.  We may have seemed dormant during these months, but rest assured that we continue to move forward with the works of JSRF, as we prepare to send teens to summer camps to “Experience Hope” this summer.

Here at JSRF headquarters we have sprung into motion. We have been busy planning and preparing and are ready to announce our first 5K Run/Walk.

We are now looking for sponsors and volunteers to help with our 5K. If you can help or know of someone who can, please email us at info@jeremystomfoundation.org.

Registration is now open. Visit Jeremy Stom Remembrance Foundation today for more information or to register.

Please help us spread the word to make this a successful event.

Training Together on Tuesdays

There has been so much excitement over our first Experience Hope 5K Run/Walk, that the JSRF committee has decided to start a Run/Walk training club for those interested in preparing for RACE DAY (no experience needed).

The training will start on Tuesday, June 4th and will meet weekly(weather permitting) at 7PM at Lakewood Forest Preserve. We will meet in parking lot A/B. Join us!

Yoga Night Update

In March we hosted our 2nd JSRF Wine & Unwind Yoga Event. The spacious room on the 2nd floor of the St.Francis de Sales Ministry Center was transformed into a place of healing by yoga teachers Laurie and Joe Kane and yogi Kate O’Donnell.  From the moment you walked into the room there was a feeling of instant relaxation. The beautiful lit trees (provided byTreeTime), the candlelit room, and the aromatherapy filled the space with perfect lighting and aromatic scent. All this combined with delicious chocolates, wine samplings -and of course Yoga, completed the perfect setting for the night.  This event nearly sold out and was successful thanks to the efforts of Laurie & Joe Kane and Kate O’Donnell. Proceeds raised from this event were just over $600!We extend a special thank you to Fr. David Ryan for his outstanding support to JSRF and for the use of the facility at St. Francis de Sales Parish.

TreeTime Update

In December 2012 we were fortunate to once again team up with TreeTime -Christmas Creations. When customers used the “JSRF” coupon code, the Foundation earned 10% of the total purchased price. Many of you used the coupon code and shared it with families and friends in other states, who also made purchases via the TreeTime website.

We truly appreciate all your efforts; with your help we raised over $500 for JSRF! We extend a special thank you to Joe & Laurie Kane, owners of TreeTime for their continued support.
