Happy Holidays from JSRF

  • by

Seasons Greetings,

This holiday season you can help under-resourced teens Experience Hope across the ocean! As we approach the final weeks of 2017 we are surprised and grateful at how we continue to grow. The Jeremy Stom Remembrance Foundation has spread its wings across cities and states to help under-resourced teens for the past six and a half years. This coming year we hope to expand those wings even further to teens that have endured extreme hardship on the island of Puerto Rico due to Hurricane Maria. Why Puerto Rico? JSRF will select teens from the town of Rincon, P.R., to honor Jeremy and his brother Jean’s Puerto Rican heritage, and this very special place where they both loved to visit their beloved grandmother.

As we mentioned in our last newsletter, this has been our most diverse year. We sponsored teens to spiritual retreats, and various day and resident camps in Alabama, Illinois, Michigan, Missouri and Wisconsin. Teens enjoyed sports camps such as: lacrosse, soccer, football, basketball, and let’s not forget the entire track team for a second year at Chicago Jesuit Academy. And finally, in October we partnered with Kessel Training and sponsored six under-resourced teens to participate in travel team basketball. Please see below some of their very own testimonials about their experience of hope!

This year alone we sponsored 44 teens! We are happy to share with you that as of today we have helped a total of 126 teens! We remind each of you reading this newsletter that it is through your generosity and giving hearts that together we are able to provide so many teens an Experience of Hope

Wishing each of you and your families good health, joy and happiness and may the holiday spirit be with you throughout the New Year!

Peace, Love, & Gratitude,

Ciri, Scott, & Sayra

12 Tastings of Christmas

Thanks to all who joined us for the 12 Tastings of Christmas on Sunday, December 3rd, at Treetime Christmas Creations. It was an amazing evening. We had over 85 JSRF friends and supporters attend the magical evening. A special thank you to Treetime (Laurie & Joe Kane, the Treetime staff and the amazing JSRF committee members) for all their hard work in hosting this yearly fundraiser and making JSRF their charity of choice. Beautiful music was provided by Wayne Ewing, with his dueling “Piano Guyz”, and tastings and wine were provided by the JSRF committee and the International House of Wine and Cheese.

Kessel Training Feedback

We wanted to share some of the letters we received from one of the coaches and a few participants in the travel team basketball camp.
