Exciting News from JSRF

  • by

Dear JSRF Friends,

“Passion is a product of the heart. Passion breeds conviction and turns mediocrity into excellence! With passion, you will overcome insurmountable obstacles.”

As I read this passage the other day I could not help but think of the passion that has developed for JSRF by so many of you. Together we are growing leaps and bounds and touching lives of so many under-resourced families that otherwise would not have had the opportunities that we have provided to their children. We are in full witness of the “experience of hope”!

This month we have something special to share with you. In December 2013, JSRF received an endowment (a promise to donate yearly to JSRF). The donor wishes to remain anonymous, but has created a logo that will identify the endowment every year when the donation is received by JSRF. The logo is being introduced today, June 28, 2014 as it also marks the one-year anniversary of the passing of the donor’s mother, Anna.

We are forever grateful to this family for believing in our cause and choosing JSRF as their charity of choice. We are fully aware of the many wonderful charitable organizations that are out there, and we feel honored, blessed and fortunate that this family chose Jeremy’s foundation to represent their parents’ commitment to children. JSRF thanks you from the bottom of our hearts.

Peace,

Ciri, Scott & Sayra Stom

Words from our Donor

“It is a privilege to explain this annual endowment. I am honored to represent my parents, Anna & Colin, and their lifelong commitment to helping children. The Jeremy Stom Remembrance Foundation (JSRF) was the first, and only choice to represent my parents’ lifelong devotion toward helping children. Courage and commitment, these were the cornerstones of my parents and of their generation “The Greatest Generation”, as Tom Brokaw appropriately defined in his 2001 book. I wish to present this endowment “A Child’s Hand Won’t be Dropped,” with these same values as its core.  My parents both immigrated to this country in 1958. My mom was from Ireland and dad from Scotland. My sister and I were adopted from Ireland and brought here to the US. I know in my heart that Scott, Ciri, and Sayra believe in empowering adolescents to their greatest potential, just as my parents did.  I believe this foundation’s involvement will bring peace, comfort, hope and love to the under-resourced adolescents that are sponsored. I believe my parent’s commitment for caring and loving was taking someone else’s child from an orphanage in Ireland and blessing us (me and my sister) with lives full of hope and love. “A Child’s Hand Won’t be Dropped” is an endowment given to the unwavering commitment of the men and women behind JSRF to continue to love and care for children. Thank you”
